Freshness!

A New start for 2022?

Getting old does not mean decay, we can ask God to make us fresh again, like the smell of baked bread!

We are a force in Ekklesia to still be reckoned with, many talents and gifts, much advice and teaching to pass on to the young and not so and older folks too!

We have experience, we have gone through tough time, pit falls, persecution, loss, pain, love, marriage, divorce, troubled minds, fear, anger, and many more related matters that you too have had to deal with?

God is always with us, we maybe not always with Him but His love through Jesus encompasses our faith!

Leviticus 24:8, Lamentations 5:21, 1 Corinthians 5:7, Titus 3:5.

The Christmas Message!

The truth of Jesus birth is getting shut Out?

Despite this pandemic, this year Jesus is not in the picture of Christmas by a political world that wants Him removed!

But despite the will of humanity He will remain since He is the only Savior of the world and we should take time to consider Him over the next few days as we mark the holidays?

Isaiah 9:6, 53:1-5, Luke 2:7, 12, John 3:16-17, Acts 4:12, 1 Timothy 3:16.

Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year!

‘Young at Heart?

Just because our bodies fail, our minds stay Young!

One is getting on and was a tot of the sixties and a youth of the 1970’s, but I still like modern music and what young people have to say!

Many teenagers and young adults today live in a society of hurt and loneliness, even the Internet is a burden to them because of grooming and much dishonesty and suicide is always there with them?

We are told we live in an age of liberation and many Church people who are in same sex relationships can say anything, since they refuse to deal with peoples problems and push them out into any empty social services!

But God-Jesus, when we find Him we find re-assurances and true peace, and we have a responsibility to talk to the young and encourage them, since they are longing for us to help them!

Psalm 77:9, 135:14, Isaiah 14:1, Lamentations 3:32, Matthew 9:36, 15:32, Luke 10:33, Hebrews 10:34.

Plenty to keep Doing?

Planning beyond Christmas!

When one has been a believer a long time the years seem to get shorter, when we are keeping active and we learn that the calendar of Church life has to be well planned for the next festival that may meet our label?

Already we should be thinking about Valentines and even Easter, if not many different things in between! Some will have already prepared their sermons for the year and some that can be adapted to meet the needs as with this ongoing COVID-19/Omicron pandemic situation?

But what ever or wherever God has us, it is valuable to all around us, for no one knows who God is going to save or remove from around us!

Acts 4:29, 10:33, 15:11, Romans 8:28, 2 Corinthians 4:1-2, Philippians 1:19-23, 1 Timothy 3:16.

Christmas is Coming!

Helping in decorating and the Crib Display?

Not all fellowships are the same, some don’t even mark the season in a traditional way, but probably secretly do it at home?

Older believers still have a place to help clean and decorate, they may place emphasis on the crib and the essential message of the season that, ‘Jesus was born of the Virgin!

We may have the tech and the interactive Church, something to consider for the future too when we are older and the newer whatever will come along?

2 Corinthians 7:3, Ephesians 2:22, Hebrews 4:4, 2 Peter 1:19.

Advise and Encourage!

‘The world will knock us?

Many young people in leadership today are getting knocked, they have bright ideas and they are wonderful, but the world is now more occupied by the bright lights of the Internet and the virtual world of none reality!

We who are older in Church work have learned many of the pit falls and the ways of Satan, so we have much to offer in advice and encouragement, even those who are just over ten years younger than us need it that help too?

We are all one wonderful family, all ages and we all have one Father who loves us and a son who has brought us back to fellowship and friendship with God!

Ruth 1:16-17, 1 Samuel 18:1-4, Psalm 55:12-13, Daniel 2:49, Luke 10:38-42, Acts 15:31, Romans 8:37, 2 Corinthians 6:15, Philemon 1:7, 20, Hebrews 13:22, James 4:4.

Forgetting?

‘Our Minds!

This is one of many issues that we will face as we get older and it can be very hard on our loved ones, children and friends?

We think we are still speaking to them, but they only hear confused rubbish!

On the great day of Pentecost many heard the Disciples of Jesus speaking what they assumed that they were drunk, but others who had faith heard them in their own language and were amazed that these Galileans were able to do this!

God will overrule our lives, even in dementia and with the right help sought something can be recovered, if not healed!

Patience, prayer and tolerating will help, not so much an old peoples home and medications to the eyeballs?

Acts 2:13-15, Romans 15:15, 1 Corinthians 13:7, Ephesians 5:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8.

The season of Love!

Maybe not bounding like a young Gazelle?

Many people find love again, even in old age, romance does not die because we are frail?

Maybe the sexual activity may be stunted, but not for all and their is nothing to be ashamed of as believers, but rather more experience of life will come to the fore?

Many of us have come from great darkness, prostitution, gangsterism, organized crime, were life was cheap and what we gained from God was freedom and respect for marriage, love and sex!

Songs of Solomon 2:7-12, 5:8, 16, Ephesians 5:22-33.

Scary Times!

Underlaying breakdown in Society?

Much of the nation continues on as if nothing was happening and yet within the inner cities of many nations knife and gun crime rules supreme, putting fear into both the young and the old alike!

But these times have been foretold for the end, when hatred will replace love and love will be channeled into lust and selfishness, even believers will be swept away into what they want their itching ears to hear, if not also violence?

Our God is great and that is why we are being asked in these last times to endure what is going on around us, Lot had to endure the sexual immorality that was going on around him and God sent angels to destroy that wickedness as He will burn the Earth on Judgement day!

Deuteronomy 28:50, Lamentations 2:21, Amos 5:4, Matthews 7:7-8, Luke 21:23-26, John 3:3, 14-18.

Ripeness?

Growing Old!

The way that society has been orientated over the last thirty years, much of youth and young people have been dying, overdoses, suicide, and many other issues that they have generally been brainwashed with by the evil of this world?

But many of are struggling to make it as believers in a hostile world and at times indifferent Ekklesia, who can appear to be worse than the darkness outside in selfishness!

But God uses a different language in relation to getting old, ripe! He sees us fulfilling what ever was laid out before us as done, achieved and now we can rest with Him in Eternity

Geneses 15:13, 25:7, 35:28, Ruth 4:15, Ecclesiastes 11:8, Isaiah 65:20, John 4:35.
