Happy New Year!

Gathering in the fruits of the Season?

This is not the normal time of the year to be talking about a harvest, unless it is winter vegetables of some kind, no this is the Spiritual harvest of souls seeking more of Jesus to help them in our crazy world!

Some fellowships will have many and others none, some worried, others relieved, but what ever way it comes it is good to know that even in our latter years we are still impacting?

It could be more of a witness to the fellowship than to the outside, but whatever it is it is the right way to keep going and looking forward to Eternity, if we doubt or are worried we should pray, there is so much need and it is always a help to those we may never physically meet!

Proverbs 25:13, Matthew 9:38, Luke 8:14, Hebrews 10:39, Revelation 20:4.

More than the traditional Story!

The Jewish Messiah and the Savior of the World?

People will be coming into our fellowships this season looking for warmth, friendship, a meal and a talk and even coming to faith in Jesus!

Many young people are getting more and more confused by their sexual identity and there is really no help to tell them the truth, our country is being ripped of by medical criminals who with teachers are brainwashing people into that they want and not what young people need?

In the gospels of the New Testament we find some rare passages about Jesus, that many for centuries in the reformed Church have removed to justify replacement theology and cause more problems than solve them!

Luke 1:68-79, 2 :22-38, John 1:1-18.

Happy Christmas and a blessed New Year?

The world Remembers!

Believers forget what was and press on to what is to be?

The world remembers its fallen, the glorious dead, but we must forget the past and focus on Heaven, leaving the old life and its contents to the dustbin and pressing on to our goal!

Its a challenge to be New, when we still carry the baggage of sin, but giving it to God and daily repenting is not an excuse, but its helps us to be aware of how much we need Jesus all the time?

John 4:23-24, 14:27, Philippians 13:3, 12-13, Hebrews 4:12-13.

Halloween and Guy Fawkes!

From prank to Harm?

When we were all young things were much different than they are now and traditional days allowed for fun and pranks, but as the years have gone by knife crime and guns are on the rise along with rape, racial and religious hatred and many excuses that go with them from political to other!

Now that we have lived our lives, we should be better to listen and help those who are younger than us and the teens of today, who struggle with their sexuality and identity than ever before?

Many fail to understand the difference between good and bad, even in fellowship, while others have no idea of the significance of Guy Fawkes and the outcome of his actions if they had succeeded for our nation and reformed faith, to be independent of Rome and its idolatry!

John 3:3, 14-21, Acts 4:26, Romans 3:21-31, 6:22-23, 1 Timothy 1:6, 6:20, Hebrews 4:12-13, 7:25, 9:26-27, 10:10, 15, 26, Jude 1:7, Revelation 3:20.

Peace!

Something that we all desire, but might not always Get?1

The Bible has tow words for peace one from the Hebrew Old Testament Shalom, having the meaning of being complete, but in the New Testament we have the Greek word Eirene, which can be translated as joining together or also being prosperous and that has upset some believers!

Maybe this is because it has been taken out of context in relation to worldly wealth rather than spiritual riches and pushed by people with dishonest motives in the Prosperity ministry?

When Jesus appeared to His Disciples, He said, ‘I give you peace, not as the world gives you! Here our Lord was speaking from a Jewish perspective to them and would have used Shalom Alechem meaning a total complete peace to you and your souls as in the hymn, All is well with my Soul!

John 8:12, 14:27, Romans 12:2, Titus 1:4, Hebrews 7:25, 10:26

Forgetting!

Memory Loss is not limited to Age?

We can lose or memory at any age, from child abuse to being involved in a crash, terrorism to conflicts, depression and cancer on the brain be one of many medical factors!

But it is more assumed when we age dementia and others things make us forget things and as we press on we may need to be prompted by others, this is where the real love of believers come to the fore?

Discipline in daily devotions, reading the scriptures and having a prayer diary that is adaptable is the beginning of not forgetting the truth and love of Jesus who will be with us and welcome us to our real home!

Zechariah 8:19-23, John 3:3, 14-21, 14:2-3, 27, Hebrews 9:26-27, 10:26, 1 John 3;18, 2 John 1-4.

The problem with Lies!

It is something that effects us All?

One would think the older you get the wiser you might be and not keep to your old ways, but at times the old enemy will have a go at us and we will fall back

Recently we have had a twelve day war in the Middle-East (Thirteen Actually) and all the leaders of the nations involved have told lies of one kind or another to please their own public and even deny the seriousness of the bombing, loss and destruction, while others have taken the credit?

Some of these men are old, others are middle-aged, but they all share in the same sins and non of them are saved, since they are of the world and cannot be trusted much with any truth!

Psalm 63:11, Isaiah 44:25, John 4:23-24, 1 Timothy 4:2, Hebrews 4:12-13, 1 John 1:6-8, Revelation 21:8.

Keeping Busy?

Witnessing, Testimony, Out Reach!

There is still plenty for us to be doing in our fellowships, from making the tea, to sharing our faith on the streets, doing door to door witness, out reaching with a food bar and tracts outside our place of worship?

We can be seen or not and still be there doing something, arranging the flowers, putting out the song books, cleaning and even writing out our testimony as a tract to use when speaking to other people!

Decorating the building, sound systems, lighting, painting, electrical work and just being there to help others, to remain active in love and concern for the sickly, disabled and all who are ill in visiting and many other things to?

Psalm 8:4, Matthew 22:16, Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 12:25, 1 Timothy 3:5, Hebrews 2:6.

Plenty to Share!

We have much Experience to Give?

Old folks should not be seen as being in the corner of fellowship, but in the front with the young children and those coming to faith to help and encourage them or keep them in line when they get over excited more the little ones I think!

Other wise we still have a long life of experience that we can warn those even a little younger than us what to do and what to avoid?

The Holy Bible tells us much about the older wise men in the gate and that is where younger men sought out that help and wisdom, so we should also be doing the same, woman to as much as men!

2 Samuel 19:8, Ruth 4:1-9, Esther 2:21, Jeremiah 38:7, Luke 2:25-34.

NEW LIFE!

Never give up on Hope?

This Easter may look bleak from many senses, but as believers we must never give up until it is the time for the Lord to take us Home!

New fruit is always coming into our fellowships and with Easter and the despair in many peoples lives today, they will come just to get help and hope for their respective situations, but in the meantime of the message some will stay?

And our purpose will now come into play, wither we meet them at the door, give to them a hymn book or a hot drink, the opportunity to talk is for the taking and our hospitality will be one of many keys that touch the hearts as the Holy Spirit enters in to help them confess to God and come to salvation as once it was for us too!!!!

John 3:14-21, 4:23-24, Romans 5:8-9, 2 Corinthians 2:14-16, Hebrews 4:12-13, 9:26-27, 13:2.
