The power of the Cross/Stake/Tree!

Conversion leads to the demise of the Old-Self?

In our modern world many believe that the teachings of the Holy Bible are a bit archaic and some things no longer apply and we can live the lifestyle that we want to or feel we should have and God will still love us!

But this is a lie from Satan and we discover at the cross/stake/tree that the blood of Jesus shed for us brings about a change for the better, the old life is taken away and we enter into a new relationship with our Father through His son Jesus!

Romans 6:6, Galatians 2:20-21, 5:24-25, 6:14, Ephesians 4:22-23, Colossians 3:9-10.

Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathaea!

Age is an issue with these two men?

Both had to be well over thirty years to hold the positions within Jewish religious society at that time and they being secret believers took the responsibility to care for the body of the Messiah, these are two of the oldest mentioned in this account of Jesus death and resurrection!

God always has a place and a role for all ages and He is not one to be biased as we are to youth ministry as the future of the Church, no He is for the oldie too, who have lived long enough to saved in His time and not ours a challenge that must be faced up to and not got the way of other religions?

Matthew 27:58, Mark 15:43, Luke 23:52, John 19:38, Romans 2:11, Galatians 2:6, Colossians 3:25, 1 Peter 1:17.

St. Valentine!

LOVE?

Loving does not deplete with age, but it matures for believers at least it should!

Love and marriage must be true for believers between men and woman and not to the ideals of what the world is deluding many today with transgender and same sex relationships in the name love while excusing the sexual aspects of sin?

Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26.

We talk about love in the Ekklesia, but outside of it, even with other believers we show very little compassion and pretend that we were not aware until after the event! This we nullify the love of God in our lives and expose ourselves to either be afraid or maybe not really saved, perhaps committed might be a better way of putting it?

John 3:14-21, Romans 8:37, Ephesians 2:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:16, 1 John 4:10-11, 19.

For the New Year 2024!

What we can Offer?

We all have something to offer others in the fellowship of believers, it might be a small thing and it might be much bigger and not many than we could ever think it was!

People want help, family, work, Church, debt, bill, facing eviction, already living in an others home, these are some of the situations that we face today and some of them are old as they ever have been?

God is always with us when we are saved and are committed to Him and despite what the enemy sends at us, we are not alone!

Luke 3:11, John 13:8, Romans 11:17, 1 Corinthians 9:23, Philippians 4:14, 1 Peter 2:5.

Christmas!

Our Conduct?

After fellowship on the Christmas morning we tend to forget the religion by the evening and let our hair down, thus we lose our witness in relation to this invaluable message, where we have the opportunity to share what Jesus means to us?

WE have a light that the world cannot have, but it does want it by others means and we need to be showing a better way, by sharing the good news of Jesus virgin birth into this dark world and that His light and life id for all who will believe?

Matthew 5:16, John 3:17-21, 8:12, Philemon 1:6, 1 Peter 2:12.

Valiant!

Wealth, Virtue, Valour and Strength?

All that is Spiritual in the life of an older believer so that one is armed and ready to resist evil that is around us both in the world and now acceptable in Ekklesia, with very few to oppose it!

As believers we are in a daily battle and in old age, depending on health it does become harder to be heard or understood by so many who have adopted the ideas of the world and excused them in religion more so than faith?

2 Samuel 13:28, Isaiah 5:22, Ephesians 3:14, 6:10, 1 Peter 4:11.

Getting Weary?

Worn out by the trials of being in the body!

We all have to go through hard times, change and even in Ekklesia times of new ideas, opposition to the truth we learned in our experience and it is tough?

Old age brings tiredness on very quickly, it is natural that we can not always do what we did the year before, if not yesterday and so it is easy to become weary of living!

The New testament teaches us not to give up but to press on, despite for some of us wanting to go home, there still may be much work to do here with our Spiritual gifts that are still required of us?

Psalm 6:6, Proverbs 30:1, Galatians 6:9, Revelation 2:3.

Between Law and Grace!

The contrast with Jesus?

Today many people are being drawn into legalism, because they want conditions in their lives and Christianity is not offering them that life guideline?

Yet religions based on the law, cannot be fulfilled, this why Jesus was given to by God, so that we would be set free from the curses that are associated with breaking the laws of God!

In times past lame and ill animals, as well people were refused until they got themselves sorted out, But now that Jesus has come all the ill, lame were brought to Him for healing.

God has not changed and we are only ask to repent of our failings , believe that Jesus died and rose from the grave on the third day and ask Him to forgive us?

Matthew 11:5, Leviticus 21:18, Hebrews 12:13.

Seek Me with all your Heart?

A change of mental Attitude.

God wants us to understand our need of Him not based on feelings or just having a bad day, it has to be a mental awareness of our failings and thus the desperate situation that we find ourselves in?

In Jeremiah 29:13, the Hebrew word for heart is Lebab, Stonge H3824 it means much more to encompass many areas of our giving of self to God and all that is mentioned.

The emphasis is on real repentance, seeking the mercy and forgiveness of God, rather than the feeling that God loves and if we say sorry all will be well with us and we can continue to have the experience to go on sinning?

Amos 5:4, Matthew 7:7-8, John 3:3, Romans 6:17, 2 Corinthians 4:16, 2 Timothy 2:22, Revelation 3:20.

More to Pentecost?

Old men dreaming, Dreams! Acts 2:17.

We have to carry the statement here through to Joel 2:28 and 31 to understand a fuller meaning of what God is telling us in the pouring out of the Holy Spirit something that is connected with past prophecy and then with future revelation!

Pentecost is something to be in awe of when we learn from Joel 2:31 that these events will come to past and the end of the ages as mentioned in Revelation 6:12-17.

Our fellowships are full of deluded people that now openly justify sin and they have no shame since they are told God loves them so much he will let them continue on in it, rather than resist temptations!

Matthew 6:13, Luke 11:4.
